ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
For 51 years AP photographer Nick Ut has photographed a wide range of influential stories in news, sports, riots, fires, presidents, the trial of the century, and many celebrities. But in June 8, 1972, the image of a naked 9-year-old girl running down Route 1 in Trang Bang after an aerial napalm attack, captured the world's attention and earned him a Pulitzer Prize.
A compilation of his work depicting his career will be on display at The Perfect Exposure Gallery.
The Perfect Exposure Gallery welcomes Nick Ut's friends and admirers to his Retirement Party and wishing him well in his continued endeavor: his passionate pursuit of story telling.
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Huỳnh Công Út, known professionally as Nick Ut, is a photographer for the Associated Press (AP) who worked in Vietnam, Tokyo, South Korea and currently, in Los Angeles, California.
Nick Ut won the 1973 Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography for "The Terror of War", depicting children in flight from a napalm bombing. Ut himself was wounded three times in the Vietnam war in his knee, arm, and stomach. On the 40th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning photo in September 2012, Ut became the third person inducted by the Leica Hall of Fame for his contributions to photojournalism.

The Perfect Exposure Gallery is the recognized venue in Southern California to display the work of award winning and accomplished photojournalists as well as works of photographers that regard artistry and craftsmanship as a standard of excellence. The mission of the Perfect Exposure Gallery is to present exhibits free of charge to the general public with the following goals to exemplify the rich variety and impact of photography, freedom of expression, a forum for the aesthetic, the contemptible and the sublime.
