LIVE BETTER WORK UNION!!!

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
Labor Day--It's easy to think of this holiday as the unofficial end of summer. One last hurrah with friends and family before the kids are back to school and you're packing away those BBQ tongs. Of course, there is much more to it than that.
By the late 19th century, conditions for the average American worker were really out of hand. Most people worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week to barely get by. Enough was enough and laborers took to the streets in protest, over and over. Labor unions rose up and by 1894, Labor Day was declared an official federal holiday. This exhibit is a tribute to all those brave workers and to us who benefit from their efforts today. Cheers and enjoy that well deserved day off!
